He did not beat Kenpachi who was only using a small portion of his power as the author says, not even when it is this version of Kenpachi that does not use shikai and bankai. It's quite disappointing, as tired as he is that he can't beat a very limited kenpachi, it's quite pathetic and weak. What hope does Itachi have for the future no matter how hard he trains? I don't understand why they make such weak MCs.

The answer in which you talk about preferences and needs does not really say much, just like when you answered me that an MC does not always equal a good story, in this case the variation is greater because there are many types of preferences and needs to cover and it's impossible to follow a story with many varied tastes intermingled because one group or another will dislike it. Although I can understand the reason and what you were aiming for. In reality, I don't see why it is a necessity to cover needs or for the sake of the diversity of preferences, that is, if the author writes about weak MC it is simply because he wants to, not because of any need or because he should write about it since he can do it any way. In another way, this to satisfy what he does it for, for that reason he does not have the need. Futhermore, if there were a need it would not have to be reasonable, preferences sometimes dont make sence.

Alreth:Well worry not sir cause i also got one for that, i have shown the reasons that could be and you agreed, now for the NEED. This one is simple because it boils down to Target Audiences, Audience Preference and Author writing style. Thats it no grand reason no super complicated, mind blowing stuff. The need is because some people just prefer 'weak to strong' mcs and as long as a group of people has a common want, someone is bound to provide. The same reason as other people like other guns compared to other guns, or other readers like mystery over action or in our case, why some readers like strong mcs, some op mcs, some invincinble mcs. Why some choose one path when the other provides the same result, they just really want something else. Preferences. Additionally, to further explore the context on to 'why make weak mcs that can be strong when you can already have strong mcs in the first place whether they be good or bad story' other than PREFERENCES is people expect them to be that so. We expect strong mcs to be strong, OP mcs that CAN be OP or IS already OP. They have the means, they have the potential, point being they ARE or CAN be strong. Like naruto as you have used as an experiment and admit it or not Naruto is some or a version of an example on how to present weak to strong mc, guy was folded and couldnt do more than 2 jutsus but hey look at him now. Underdogs? You dont expect them to be worth a lot, you expect them to fail again and a lot of times but when they win? (read as: author managed to write/deliver it so that it wasnt forced or filled with plot holes or just forced/unnatural really) the impact is there, the relevance is there. Its like a plot twist on its own self. Youd know even if you dislike weak mcs that when they win, they didnt because they were special, they won not because everyone expected them to win. Story writing, write something no matter how fictional it is, as long as you get the peoples heart pumping and attention you can go about it as many ways as you want that is why there is a NEED. this is a reason and a NEED. Finally for your last bit about expected strength scaling and character strength, i use the same reason as i said before thats unfair standards. Let the author cook, this FF aint got a lot of chapters, Itachi even if he still got the edge he just spawned in bleach-verse with a completely different set of rules. Sure there has been some time but remember, the souls (captains, vice captains and the king and his guards to name a few) have lived for centuries of fighting that even if they cant match itachi on intellect or his genius they sure is hella backed up by whole lot of experience. CENTURIES OF EXPERIENCE and itachi is like? what? mid 20s mid 30s, Iam not sure on his exact age but even if he lived as an assassin, on war, as a child soldier the souls on bleach at least by logic and by timeframe experienced a lot more. Basically cut the guy some slack, let him cook. If it has been like 1000+ chapters and mc here like lost to rukia even after that then your frustration is warranted.

I wonder what would be the attitude of Susanoo when Itachi unlocks him. Tsukuyomi is calm and cool, whereas Amaterasu is hot and passionate
