If the MC truly wanted to kill Sasuke, he should have just done it when Itachi used Tsukoyomi on him. Sasuke was laying there unconscious. He could have just used a shadow clone to chop his head off and gouge out his eyes. Then, Itachi would have gone after Danzo and the elders in the village. Much better plan than storming off like a psycho.
