Are you sure you're putting this in the animals' point of view? They still seem too human and intelligent in the sense of having a human mind with a lot of emotions, I'm even finding it comical.

Intelligence doesn’t mean they have to act exactly like humans. The wolf mothers mate was even called her husband. Them being demonic beasts/wolf’s feel more like it was shoehorned in to create the setting, rather then being a trait of the characters.
