One of the things I like about the potential of a zombie apocalypse is the quantity of undead. You can either have a basic zombie virus that spreads and infects the living, or you can have a horrid zombie curse that raises all of the dead, which is more fun because of the sheer quantity increase.
I'm kind of hoping there are more hybrids like him that "survived" through their will power because while it won't make the mc unique, it'll show that there are other people on par with the mc because he's not the only one that didn't want to die
