Yeah, that could have been his uniqueness- devouring meat. You could have explained luffy's strength to that too, he consumes lots of meat, so a growth by eating strong opponents could make some edge. And even a little bit cannibal mc can do, but then again in one piece there are lots of strong animals and even kaydo can be counted as a beast
