I understand how this situation looks almost inevitable. Like, so suddenly a super strong enemy came to the MC's door just to kill him, or maybe other reason. I won't say it looks forced because, it could really happen. What I don't understand is why the MC didn't expect it? Did he know that nobody will be able to attack him for a mean time? Or such memories were locked because he had a trauma and didn't want to think about them? It was mentioned how he even have weapons and armors that coincidentally are not with him because they are getting an update. If his power decrease so much without them, then don't leave them for any reason. If they are just complements to his power, I wouldn't comply at all. After all, his powers won't be that much affected. But it was clearly stated how his power decreased so much without them.... Welp, at least I know how the MC is not prepared for the unexpected yet.
