this is absolutely amazing I've been hooked since the first chap

I hope the romantic interest isn't Haley lol don't get why people love her, it would be great if it were a real world character(singer, actor, dancer) tho

He has a horrible dad. Any competent parent would have sent him to rehab, had him committed, enrolled him in therapy, or any number of things. The first interaction he had with the MC was the father sarcastically announcing his surprise that the MC hasn’t overdosed and is still alive. Let’s not gloss over the fact that he’s been a terrible parent. I see where you’re going with this. Almost like a fresh start. I, personally, wouldn’t forgive him. While he may have been suffering because he lost his wife, all it would have taken was a single phone call to get help. And if he wasn’t capable, he should have called child services, explaining that he was grieving and he’s not capable of taking care of his drug addict son.
