Wow... he's really going through with this. It's got the same level of thought put into it as the utter stupidity that was Hiruzen offering up the Hyuga clan head because he managed to stop his daughter from being kidnapped or the itatchi situation. But it's still such a stupid move that it kind of kills the story for me. Like Hiruzen has to actively be trying to self-sabotage his own village here to even start thinking that this is even remotely a good choice.
