This is peculiar. When the main character's mom and Michael get together, wouldn't that make Seraphina his stepsister? I had assumed Xin would date Seraphina; this is why I'm already dropping the novel due to this perplexing issue. I don't comprehend why authors choose to depict the main character without parents, always with a lonely mom raising kids or the MC being an orphan because their parents died in a tragic accident. Why can't the MC have both parents? I know this is somewhat off-topic, but for goodness' sake, this is frustrating.
