I'm surprised Hiruzen didn't grant MC to Orochimaru, he is ideal, due his civilian background (MC is blank state without family background), and a prodigy. It would introduce danger to an already OP MC, but also rewards, as Orochimaru should be the one with access to most kekkei genkai. You would thinkHiruzen would want to distribute the 3 prodigies of this generation, and not clump them together: Kakashi, Atsuchi and Guy (who can keep up reliying only on taijutsu)
