Comments of chapter undefined of HOTD: The Crab's Dance - A Celtigar's Tale

I don't understand the plotline. If the main character is ambitious and status seeking, why didn't he propose Rhaenyra in the first place? Knowing that she would become queen and that he himself would reign as prince consort at her side. House Celtigar would benefit more from this marriage.

This egg thing is running on a little long.

It is annoying, he keeps on obsessing over dragons so much, it is unsightly. Why doesn't he improve the power of his house through shear development as an SI? He should know better that ambitions can be the downfall of his house, instead of improving himself and his house in a steady manner, he chases after dragons, which could potentially make many noble houses hostile to them as he is not the first to try and get a dragon, many others tried but failed to get dragons while many more desire them. Please close the chapter of dragons and focus on developments.
