Great chapter! Loved Rhain's confession. He no longer wants to be a certain version of what people want him to be, the perfect son, brother or heir, or even the perfect husband. He is tired of these expectations that he has to live up to and mold himself into those roles. He wants to be seen and accepted without having to play a certain specific role and by just being himself with all versions of himself. So he is telling Daisy he is not just the caring husband. He is more than that, so he can't give her the answer she is looking for where he is just one thing or the other. He is complicated and multifaceted, and the truth is not singular in his case.
I loved seeing Daisy show Rhain how much she cares about him. I think he needed to see that. Rhain showing Diasy more of himself is a real improvement. I’m happy he wants to show her the real him and not the mask he has had to wear. I feel like Lysander would help them if Rhain told him she was his happiness. After all, Lysander wanted Rhain to find it and be selfish for once. They need him on their side. I wonder if they can find out more about the vessel. Is there a way to separate Daisy from that? What would happen if she was turned?
I like that Rhain's becoming more honest now with Daisy. I hope Daisy sees the true 'him' , the him that Rhain hid in himself, the Rhain we wanted to know more too. I wish he can freely love and be with his joy and life, that happiness right in front of him, that is Daisy💕 He's been through a lot all these time, can he not be greedy this time and the next?🥺🙏tack Jazzy💕 I wish there'd be a movie adaptation of this novel, it's got everything❤️ The mystery and thrill, the romance and chase, and all the emotions in between are just BRILLIANT❤️ Not to forget that Rhain and Daisy are PERFECT for each other😍
That was some deep confessions and something for Daisy to chew on and think about. She wanted honesty, she got raw info about him and even herself and the struggles she is facing regarding him. I said before that it is complicated and not her being just this or that and she will now have to think if she wants both. As for Rhain, this might not be the transition some expect, that he is now all honest, all good, all caring. It is exactly what he is telling her. He is not that guy. I mean deception is part of his persona, something he uses not only to lure his prey but also keep his identity hidden. That is the challenge with his character I guess? Can we still like him? If one merely looks from the lens of a romantic hero, maybe not, because he is not.
