I think the MC did the right thing. Letting Oliver go to Lian Yu: It’s basically like allowing Tony Stark to get kidnapped to make him a better person. Oliver Queen was a waste of a human being before being stranded on that island.

first I want to congratulate you for the good story, man it's been a while since I found something like this, it's very good. but it seems that the MC didn't even try to save the family with the excuse that in "canon it was like this" and honestly this is very annoying because it seems that he lives in a tv series and not in reality.
