Big battles are fine as long as they don’t drag on and everything actually drives forward both the story and protagonist’s growth. If it doesn’t do those just keep it short and give the fast version of events.
Replying to my own post after seeing this again. I have seriously seen individual fights that don’t necessarily drive much forward take up to 15 chapters in other stories and an individual large scale fight take an entire story arc when 1-2 days of time where it could easily be cut down to 2-3 chapters without losing anything important and a 4th would be considered bloated.
Dude, I'm obsessed with your novel. It's fantastic and the pacing is great. It's not to fast or to slow. I am loving the fight. Its's realistic as much as it can be, though Masked Sabre annoys me. I keep switching between it being his dad or his brother, even though the computer says his brother is fine. Great job dude. Also, more chapters please 🥺
These longer battles definitely add a good suspense because when I read this book one chapter release at a time and get left on cliffhangers it feels like electricity is just coursing beneath the surface. I am always wanting more chapters so if you can write more that's awesome but if not that is ok too. Your health is important and we, your faithful readers shall be here waiting.
Arc is good, I’m really enjoying the length of these chapters and staying interested in the story. Side note though; I feel like giving the emerald leaf team soultraits is crazy. I don’t know how I feel about giving them out but it’s not too bad and I understand that he can’t use them all as well as the fact they are 2nd tier adventurers so they will be able to utilize the soultraits longer and better than other citizens, however, they are the least loyal to Micheal out of the entire village so it feels kind of crazy giving them soultraits rather than people who are with Micheal without needing a push from ”the elders” of another place.
