Ignore the haters ! This story is fantastic ! And YES this has happened A LOT OF TIMES and every time it happens some ally/friend/relative of Batman or Batman himself is basically like " Yes I know I/he made a mistake ! Can't we just accept this and move on ? " . Or , even worse , they declare that people harmed by the actions of Batman or any other superhero are being petty and childish for wanting to punish them . This is very , very , very , very ridiculous , so ridiculous that it would have to improve a lot to be complete nonsense !
I love how Batman ignores any other information the ring could give him. He already decided to dispose of the object, not even knowing what it was. So is the flash sacrificing his life to take the crystal to the end of time?

My problem is that batman always, ALWAYS gets away with things based purely on the fact that "the end justify the means" or whatever and honestly he's like joker when it comes to that. With how joker gets caught, thrown in Arkham and then escapes just to repeat everything all over again, batman does similar things but his things is catching villains, condemning innocent lives to even crueler fates, just to let his villains escape again because honestly if he just killed his villains he wouldn't even be needed anymore hence why his villains are never truly finished he it by death or permanent containment which batman and justice league is honestly very much capable of.
