Nah, I'm going to be real with you slow and detailed stories is not the issue. Plenty of slow stories that do very well. Its more has to do with the content of the said slow-paced story. For 28 chapters not much has happened. Just because it's slow pace doesn't mean stuff doesn't happen. my money is on that it's the mc that is holding you back not your writing style, though even for slow-paced stories there is a limit to how much you could derail the story from the purpose at hand. As for the mc while he has gotten somewhat better, in the first few chapters if someone told me they dropped because of the mc I would get it. As for your story so far I like it and see myself continuing to read.
hahahha It continues quite well, my only wish is that the main character does not realize his situation for a long time and is always secretly shy and still does not understand his position even though this situation repeats over and over again.
