I don't know If I'll be able to explain it the right way, or if it will even help you improve or not but, you write your books not like books, but like anime. So you have a lot of exposures, explanations, jokes and imagery that would work as anime but doesn't land as well as a book. Most people think a writer means being proficient in all types of writing but that is simply not true, every style of writing has it's peculiarities, it's kinda how Jk Rowling tried to write a movie script and it sucked because she wrote the script like a book
