Would MC'S pokemons can activate their main ability along with their hidden ability? If yes, then it will be interesting to see in the upcoming chapters.

Yknow I just realized something after double checking slowbro's pokedex entries.. The shellder can actually come off the tail so I got curious and rechecked slowking's pokedex and saw that it evolved when a shellder bit it's head instead. I'm unsure of how a kings rock comes into play in the manga/toon verse but there ya go.
