Hate the items in stories that give flat out % boosts. Those boots for example would then give some F ranker or SSS+ ranker a 20% boost regardless. Same with defensive. 50 or 100% resistance to fire. Whether a fireball from a novice mage or a fire god. Fine in a game but annoying in a real world type scenario even if gamish.
