I don’t know if it was worded like that in the Chinese version but it sounds odd to me, old timey English with very formal tone. It’s fine but he is ten and dialog isn’t smooth. Probly not translators fault since the og author wrote it

Yeesh, why did the translator pick this novel to work on? This was just downright cookie cutter, by the formula, op/wish fulfillment nonsense we've seen a thousand times. Absolutely Bereft of anything original, and the dialog? Id bet my house that 'your courting death' springs up in the original work quite a bit.

So far? This hits every beat in the formula. But to be fair, the translation is very competent, making the run of the mill story quite tolerable. I can let this play in text to speech all day without wanting to pull my hair out. As it's a bit longer, hopefully it gets better. I'm curious though, are there any well translated Chinese Naruto fics out there that do a good job of capturing the world building and characterisations of Naruto with a good plot?
