Now I'm dreading when Enel betrays them

I forgot to ask this but can you please tell me why does Enel need to save Ace? Why would that benefit him? After all, he knows where all the poneglyph! He’s strong enough as he is. Can still improve. Can’t eat another devil fruit. He doesn’t even know Ace. Whitebeard is going to die regardless. Remember he came to war wanting to die saving Ace. I have suspicious that he prefer to die in epic way rather than in boring way even though he didn’t want his son to die. I mean he had all that speech ready at the end. You can’t tell me otherwise😂😂😅 By the way, Luffy doesn’t even like him🤣Probably doesn’t even remember him anyway anymore. So yeah, why? I kinda want him to remain in Marine and secretly search all the secrets. If he get caught then yeah he can leave then. Up to you but pls tell me why?
