I thought lira was to old to enter, which was one reason she couldn't enter academy besides the barrier that prevents dark mages from entering undetected

i don't think that was the case. I don't know which chapter it was, but Lira was described as actually the youngest of all the Holy Priests. Youngest and the weakest. As for her reasons for not being able to enter the Academy was explained in chapter 18 and it was purely her element and barrier. Unless I'm forgetting something

how come breaking chain would give her some insight and benefits to her growth? If that's the case why didnt he hey Insight when destroying a statue with a whisp of divinity in the church of fire? In fact he has come too close to many things that should have done given some benefits in that regard but it didn't
