you'd think a guy who lived a first life constantly in pain and having zero hope would have atleast a little more mental fortitude to not be impacted by "haha you can't have this bread even though you want it" bro wanted to be healthy his first life and didn't get that either
It doesn't make sense to you because you seem to be actively trying not to understand what other people are saying and you seem to be even worse at accepting criticism. This MC should have lived a life of physical pain and inability all his life according to your description in the beginning. That usually develops atleast some tolerance towards towards pain and desperation in people (unless the said person is a irredeemable useless trash who would never amount to anything in life). But this MC was triggered very easily just by some pain and hunger. MC is being naïve is acceptable as he lived indoor all his previous life but what I said above will definitely disappoint a lot of people. you don't need to make the MC totally useless to build his character. you can try doing that on the existing base.
DelzGB:How? You're not actually making any points here. The 'mental fortitude' is pointing towards his inclination to abandon his life and the family he had, not because of him not fearing death. Also, where is it stated he has some superb level of pain tolerance? If he did, you think he wouldn't be actively spiteful and complaining about the agony he is in. Furthermore, 'pain' is different for everybody--one's tolerance can be mental or physical, and he quite literally is reborn. Hate to say it, but your comment doesn't make sense.
