honestly, those two seem like really close friends that missed their chance due to shoddy circumstances. seems like Elena is following him because she wants to get stronger, and he feels like he owes her due to his mental issues, when the truth is while not a bad fit, they're not really great. but idk, just random thoughts either way

Banana_King:I would have been fine with them just resolving to be friends after that much needed conversation, but their desire for eachother runs too deep. The conversation took so long to happen, I was actually hoping they would seperate before they could talk and Elena would find someone to cherish her in Asgard or wherever she is going. Then when Damien met her and her new partner, he would have a good point of reflection on relationships and the importance of caring for the other, looking from their perspective, and not waiting to deal with problems.
