Where is this going? You are writing a "system" novel, yet the system seems to be a last-minute addition. Where does the system come in to play? Systems are supposed to gradually make the person stronger. However: 1. He levels up, but gets NOTHING for it...no stat increases, no bonus points, no unlocks, no skills, nothing. 2. He needs exp to level up, but only gets exp from quests (obviously because he got no exp from beating the demons) 3. In 35 chapters, he's had 3 quests, still hasn't finished the first quest, and chose to fail the third. Where were the quests for the other martial arts exams? 4. He trains like crazy for 2 weeks, but doesn't gain even one point in strength, stamina, agility, or durability?? 5. The stat screen is barely mentioned, and not even used (see above) 6. He gets a very useful skill from the system (inspect), but has used it only twice in 30+ chapters Why even have the system? Why have the inspect skill? Why level up? They are all useless so far. You could have just made him gradually unlock the necklace, and saved your readers from lack-of-system usage that most readers label as a stupid MC. I'll keep reading a bit more, but I'm regretting giving gold tickets and unlocking chapters.
Yh.. that's all true. but it's all in the plan. if you'll notice, Ethan seems to be in a rush all the time and barely has time to do anything else apart from train and go to school. I know I missed some good opportunities to capitalize on the system aspect of this book and I don't really have a good excuse for any of that. the only thing I can say is that this is my first time writing a system book and I wanted to make things a bit more realistic and not too dependable on the system. I'm currently working on a unique System for Ethan and he'll start interacting more with his system in the later chapters. he will no longer need to depend on only premeditated quests to get stronger. instant level ups will also be available on a whim and his strength will gradually increase, along with my writing quality. this is not just a process for Ethan, but for me who's a total newbie. I really appreciate your concise comment though. wanna be friends?
