I’m starting to realize that this behaviour likely stems from the utter helplessness Shang felt when he was forced to kill Vana. It seems like he is trying to subconsciously do to others what God did to him.
it's so interesting to see the difference between Shang and Gravis, Shang is solely focused on making himself stronger for the sake of being strong enough to defend himself and Gravis was solely focused on being able to defend his family
Shangs thinking is that of a child dictator. Genuinely can't stand how his character development has progressed. I really hope something in the future changes and the author makes him more human
