The first quest states to survive the first hour and if you don’t the penalty is death. If you don’t survive the first hour doesn’t that mean you have already died? So what is the point of stating the penalty is death for not surviving the first hour? How can you die twice?

I like how the Apocalypse isn't just your run of the mill "portals with monsters appear on earth" kind of thing.

interesting story so far. I'd also like to point out that humans have a way of communicating that isn't effected by EMPs... so these people SHOULD still have a way to communicate. Humans have always acknowledged that long distance communication is a good thing,as it can be the difference between a win/loss. tbh, this is one of the reasons I hate current tech. so unreliable.
