i like the way you are taking this, i can count on my hand the number of gym leader FF there are. so i really hope you dont listen to all the people that are saying its a bad idea or this novel is on its last arc.

there are no fanfics of pokemon where the main character becomes a gym leader... it is new and creative and please keep going this is such a good read

Just slap the two gyms with his Rhydon. Oh if becomes a Gym Leader it should be easier to get Items such as Prism Scale and the Protector that Rhydon needs to evolve. On that note Hisoka does still need an attacking pokemon. My vote is either the Ninetales or Ampharos Line.

You completely forgot about that other task Hisoka accepted at the same time as the SS Anne guarding task, didn't you? You also seem to have forgot that during the Cerulean City Gym Lider task Hisoka thought that he would tear down his own gym himself a month after it's opening because he wouldn't be able to stand that kind of life and now he's honestly considering opening one? There even is a whole arc surrounding that. I know this one is kind of an insignificant and understandable inconsistency but it kind of doused my enthusiasm for this story and it used to be an enthusiasm and a half I have to say.

Wth why would you want to lead the character down a route that would literally limit his freedom and agency? Gym leaders have all kinds of requirements and responsibilities in their towns, MC wouldn't be able to travel to other regions...
