Let me ever see a comment on here again saying Cass doesn’t care about Sunny or that she only cares about Neph.
I'm no way onboard with those who hate Casey. Or for some reason think I'll of her as a person. She is young and in an insane situation. She saw the future and is trying to change it with information only she has. Which is where the problem lies. It's the future she has seen, she is the one making decisions to get to the result she desires(which in no way means nepharis in any way). It is only in a moment like this where she is giving a real choice by giving that information to another. Everything up to this point were also choices but uninformed and orchestrated to get specific actions taken. And it may still be that at this moment. We don't know for sure what she saw. She saw this conversation and decided for it to happen this way to eliminate other variables to make it these choices and portray it as only these choices. This can be what she thinks is best, what she feels is right, but got to that on her own without her friends or the readers.
Leftykazuki:This is the problem in writing with characters that can see the future. By nature it robs other characters of agency, under-cuts big moments and character development thus robbing the story of depth, and when it eventually leads to that character giving someone a choice it almost never really is. It was almost never satisfying for either the readers or the characters involved.
why doesn't he realise that Cassie did all of this for him, she changed fate for him. all of it so she could prove to him she was sorry .. amazing. it's so easy to mark her as evil or selfish but Cassie she's just trying to fix things with her first friend she made and survived the nightmare with ..
Even if you guys want to forgive and forget for the countless people she’s sacrificed or literally enslaving him, which she hasn’t earned. You cannot deny that she’s manipulated even his feelings and emotions regarding this “choice” that she “gave” him. Making him lose his cohort in the Antarctic so he has fresh in his mind the pain of loss. Splitting his soul apart and giving endless inescapable voice and presence to his inner demons. Whether the sin of solace was needed at all is debatable considering that she managed to escape the loops herself without it, but even if it was needed she could’ve taken on that burden herself instead of forcing it on him.
I’m guessing that the “wish” that was carft on the wooden boat was for this exact moment. Even though Cassie has a powerful fate attribute. The mad prince has proven that he can challenge Cassie in this aspect. Side note: this is by far the best novel I have ever read. I wish I could delete my memories just so I can read it all again.
Yeah I call bs…..So you are meaning to tell me that Sunny goes to the estuary gets his wish and there is no repercussions at all? What if the the most direct way he is free is the spell just killing off Nephis or significantly weakening her? Also Cassie saw all of this but doesn’t know what the outcome of this conversation will be? How does Sunny or the reader know this isn’t her attempting more manipulation? If she knows Sunny won’t go, does the well of wishes even have to exist? Does she just have to say it does? ……. Sigh this is why you don’t manipulate people once you do and get caught or f-up even the base things you do follow with question marks. Sunny thinks of Cassie as family and I’m sure he wants to believe her. He wants to be with the cohort, but it’s not like it is being made easy. Amongst them he is the only one getting played with BY THEM intentionally or otherwise.
she endured years of suffering and loneliness all for him. this might be one of the most selfless things ive seen done in a long while. yes she did it to fixx her mistakes but THIS goes far, FAR beyond what anyone else wouldve done. she started plotting right after she and sunny had their falling out after returning from the dream realm. sunny tried to inflict as much pain and suffering as he possibly could on her without hurting her physically and instead of wallowing in self pity she immediately got to work. I remember how a day after, they had the get together with the forgottek shore survivors and sunny thought it was weird she wasnt there. I am honestly in awe this plot twist is insane.
I’m almost certain Cassie is keeping part of the truth. Sure he may get his freedom but it sounds like he will lose his friends. Just like in the story with the girl who wished her mother to be a river born, I’m sure that ended badly. If sunny destroys his fate he’s no longer bound to the group. Like a group of balloons tied together. Cut one and it floats away. But Cassie is ‘letting him choose for hisself’ for all we know this will keep repeating until he doesn’t want his freedom which is probably what defiled everyone And how was he sitting on a piece of what can be assumed to be the chain breaker at the start with the warning. Probally because he made the wrong choice. And did sneaky Cassie name the boat? As in breaking the chains of fate?
Cassie, you little manipulator, ‘you can be free but playing the guilt trip… why don’t you like us’. He will always blame himself for not becoming free instead of Cassie. Well, we back to, be careful what you wish for: Team to not be corrupted? humanity not being wiped out, be the most powerful? Become fate?
Wait this can not be it right ? What torment said to her before attacking her ? Why going for all that trouble, suffering just to advice somebody to not do it, true she wanted to give the choice back but at what cost ? Him going for the well would mean abandoning the cohort they won’t forgive that. I admire the hustle of cassie but there is something wrong she is hiding a important detail
Wow what a chapter... This third nightmare is by far the best arc in terms of writing, intensity and twists. I’m just to much impressed to start theorizing… I can’t G3 gonna blow my mind again 🥲 Seriously Cassie is one of my favourite characters since his POV during Antartica arc! For me she was definitely the definition of fatality. But… finally no. She’s doing her best to change things even if some of his actions can makes the orthers desagree. I don’t know if she’s doing this only for his own sake or really to help. We’re going to see it soon! I’m one of those who believes she’s saving him by revealing his real name to Nephis during the first nightmare. Cassie must know that Sunny couldn’t survive alone like Nephis. Soooo, why some people really thinking she’s only cares about Nephis? It should be more simple to let Sunny die in the fist nightmare and basta end of the story. But, yeah I must say, she’s also really weird. She knows how Sunny feeling about her. So why didn't she try to repair her relationship with him before? It’s must be a part of his plan again. She’s the game master… Tommorow’s chapter could change everything… So let’s G3 cook and blow us again
