Guiltythree
I wonder if the fact that the first 4 victims were all of different professions is relevant. If it is a scavenger that gains the skills of the creatures it kills, maybe it is trying to understand the organization of the settlement and try to take everyone down using the knowledge it gains from eating the people who vanished.
Scavenger imp has multiple cores and thus mutilple abilities. One of these abilities, is mind control/mind reading most likely. I thought about it, the people that went missing, they did desert like Sunny thought, but just not of their own conscious will. The monster distracted the partners with its mind powers and hyponotized the victims to walk out of the safety of the research facility so it can feast on them. Why do I think this? A couple of reasons: 1) In Sunny’s first encounter with the imp, the imp realizes that Sunny is above it when Sunny consciously realizes it’s there (ie read Sunny’s mind) 2) It ran away from Sunny because it read his mind and realized the killing intent of Sunny 3) Sunny didn’t just “miss” and the imp didn’t “trip”, imp used mindpower on Sunny to have him lose accuracy and imp dodged the knife when it read Sunny’s actions. 4) Finally it’s suspicious that there’s no evidence of foul play, no witnesses, and Sunny cannot find anything abnormal on the research facility, most likely because those people were never killed at the research facility in the first place but rather died outside of it, thus why Sunny can’t find anything on the grounds. All in all, imp grows stronger not only from it feeding on the carcasses of others, but as the days grow longer, the people’s minds fatigue and make them more susceptible to the imp. It’s also possible that there’s a third actor watching these scenes and assisting the imp and the voice Sunny heard wasn’t the imp but the telepath that is assisting the imp.
My theory for this, it’ some kind of nightmare creature that can go fully invisible, it’s abilites include something along the lines of being able to be fully invisible except to it’s prey, to add to its danger I think it’ll have something to do with sound as well because how else would it be able to easily take out people and not be noticed there’s definitely a few holes in this idea but it’ more so of a rough draft of the creature. Second theory is that the voice sunny heard or is trying to hear more clearly did something to him and as we all know sunny is stealthy deadly and has an easy way to hide something, his storage, it was kind of hinted but nonetheles it’ll be a cool mind fight to show how strong sunny is in that regards because we know he has the fortitude from all his tortuous experiences. And you may be thinking what about his aspect, he can technically lie as long as he doesn’t know the truth because are you really telling a lie if you yourself don’t know it’s a lie
Now that I think about it, when Sunny ignored everything else to focus on that scavenger, it might’ve not just been the swords craziness at play, the scavenger could also have an ability that affects the mind, so he might be mind controlling the victims to make the areas look like they had no struggle
Woah!!! Gripping…. I should have waited and binged this section… You know somehow you seem to be the weaver… weaving such new themes into the story… We saw lost island then the crusaders then the gladiators then the friends and a little bit of family sprinkled aong the way… a match arena …. Now a war and a subplot now of thriller … Mind blowing… complete package i must say.
there are a few things that come to mind when I think about this. 1. this is a statement of some sort, whoever or whatever is killing these men are trying to send a message. 2. overtime, the killer is becoming more and more confident, whatever fear the killer initially had of the soldiers has likely already faded. 3. perhaps the most terrifying possibility, the men are simply vanishing. there is no one behind it, they are just vanishing (maybe this is related to the blizzard?)
