I suddenly had an idea : since this is AU ,you can change some things freely with the mighty power of the author ... the idea is : Odin sealed part of thor's power & intelligence into loki , which gave loki his asgardian appearance , and also made him the god of mischief ... proof is that , only after loki died that thor could start to control his lightning divine power , and became slightly wiser (although it could just be maturing) ... also , since loki technically has part of thor's power , he is made a Prince just like thor ... maybe , if it was tbor who dies , loki will gain the full power of thor ! as for the reason why odin would do such a thing , maybe because he was afraid of getting another offspring like hela who could possibly overthrow him ... so he decided to nerf thor and split his powers ...
