I mean nothing has been solved, Maxi will still defy him and put herself in harms way to be close to him and share all his world with him, and Riftan will keep trying to protect her in every way possible and continue to hide things from her that he thinks will put her in danger, BUT, seing as Riftan is now willing to be vulnerable and actually embrace her, not just physically but with his whole being is reassuring, there will come a time when they will work on their relationship more seriously and I will love every bit of their journey.
My heart was beating a mile a minute. At first I suspected the mages would drag Maxi back to the Mage Tower, but in the end she stayed. I swear I had a panic attack as I read Riftan desperately trying to get to Maxi so she couldn't abandon him once again and I'm so happy he finally allowed himself cry in front of her. What a roller coaster of emotions this chapter was!
