They both misunderstand each other all the time. Riftan is still boiling that she’s there. He can’t come to terms with the fact that his wife is yet again at a war front covered in blood and exerting her strength. He feels like a failure as a husband having her there in the first place because in his mind if he were a good husband she’d be safely tucked away at home with nothing but comforts. It’s not that he thinks lowly of her or doesn’t want her help because of pride. He doesn’t want to ask her for anything that would further weaken her strength. He just wants to protect but it always gets lost in translation because of his abrupt remarks. So in turn Maxi is always left feeling unwanted and not good enough while Riftan feels that if he weren’t in her life she wouldn’t be in the middle of a situation yet again with the possibility of losing her life. Riftan just needs to see beyond the veil. His influence of being her husband has strengthened Maxi to the point of her finally taking her life into her own hands and awakening what she was always destined to do. This is a new version of Maxi. He just needs to realize that this is where she was meant to end up regardless of him or not. That she’s strong and wise enough to be there. That she WANTS to be there. Once he accepts this truth it will set the course of things starting to fall into place between them.
At times I can't stand Riftan behavior towards Maxi, she all wants to help and all what he does is shout at her and keep pushing away. I would love Maxi heal Riftan just too know what it feels to be healed by your wife, but I see it will never happen due to Riftan stubbornness and temperament. Riftan you really hurting your wife with your actions.
I know Riftan in the end probably means well by rejecting Maxi’s help but I can’t help but feel for Maxi when he does that to her. I hope there will be a greater or deeper meaning as to why he’s doing this. I know something as simple as keeping an open communication can go a long way in a relationship.
ugh so frustrating. why won't he see her as an equal? his coldness is so hard to bear! her dearest wish is to be at his side in every way, and he crushes her over and over again. I KNOW he loves her, so why can't he see how he hurts her? Love won't be enough to save them if this behaviour continues. 🤷🏻♀️
