i love how everyone knows how desperate maxi is to leave the tower. 😂 then anatol would have been home to BOTH of the towers deserters. maxi and ruth always did make a great team.

I don’t understand why they can’t make the spell known to the other mages and give Maxi the credit and the *option* to choose either leaving or staying to pursue high magic. She could present it and still say, “I refuse to study forbidden magic because I want to go home as soon as possible.” Unless they have a policy that anyone this talented must remain on the island, even if it’s against their will?
