it's true: this is just a story, characters are fictional, many things are fictional but some elements are not since some social environments and circumstances are inspired by how things actually worked in the past... I would not spend comments this time because I prefer paying respect in a way, since unfortuantely there are still many women forced in what Maxi is bearing. Luckily, they will love each other in the end but it is clear that they both live the situation as a mental and physical abuse, depending on the perspective. This chapter has made me feel bad, like reading certain passages in Nabokov's Lolita...

It’s so sad for both of them, both are victims 🥹. I’m grateful that this side story is after book 1 was released, since their story is so emotionally devastating! My golden tickets will be for this book 😍

Oh my …I just had to revisit chapter 2 to remind me of Maxi’s pov of their consumation… it’s so sad he misreads her fear and confusion as some kind of discust of him - while the truth is she is simply stunned by his body even amidst being both terrified and mortified… 💔💔💔

I despise the Duke...DESPISE!!! 🤬 This should've been the happiest thing to ever happen for Riftan and Maxi, but instead, it's the worst experience imaginable. 😭 I really hope the Duke gets what's coming to him in Book 2. Imprisonment or death will satisfy me!

it might be my age but if I am totally honest I had those same feelings and fears during my first encounter of physical love. It is part of the human condition . In time with love and patience love and true passion grow. Growing together is the most beautiful gift two souls can experience . An that is what this story is all about. A love story. Please tell me the new book is going to start now we have been waiting fot months and months.

I remember reading the manga and thinking well he was still a gentleman and didn’t forced himself on her. I understand it was the first time for both but he just turned to a beast and didn’t care what she felt. No wonder Max was mortified when she knew she had to do it again when he came back. This left a bad taste in my mouth.
