Maxi needed someone like Melric. Love Ruth, but his approach is harder on Maxi. Melric is a wealth of knowledge.

That fight was far too short for my liking. I want to see more scenes of Maxi standing up for herself, and maybe a chapter on Riftan's POV where he actually REFLECTS on his behaviour. But well I suppose there is progress. Next time Maxi should be able to stand up for herself. (T_T) That ending part, they are going to end up separated again for awhile aren't they? Just when they make progress. Riftan is never there long enough for him to "change"

I need more fiesty Maxi scenes!!!! I also want to hear more things from Riftan. Any kind of insight into his mind when she is being fiesty would be great! Also, I hope he doesn't have to leave again 😭 And Melric sounds great! I'm glad she is getting more tutoring from an experienced mage. I hope to see her get more of that from even more mages in the future! I can't wait to see how she improves and I can't wait to see how Ruth reacts when he gets back (he BETTER come back or I'll die 😤😭). I also want to learn more about Riftan's aversion to magic. It's there and I wanna know why. I mean.....he can't hate it as much as he is letting on right? his sword is magic after all! I sort of want to see if this war in Livadon is going to make the king send out more troops. Perhaps that is how we will get to see the Duke reenter Maxi's life? I need her to stand up to the Duke! Even if it means that Riftan has to go too. AND I NEED A BABY TO BE COMING!

it’s amazing what a different teacher with a different set of values can do. its always good to try to learn from more than one perspective. while ruth will always be my favorite, i’m glad maxi has a new and different mentor to learn from.

Oh wow! Maxi did improve a lot with the old mage!! I totally agreed with him and his view about healing magic, the herbs and mana. I’m glad Maxi found another mentor and she is learning fast. Ruth, how could you not explain all this to Maxi? I guess he is a really busy man and didn’t had time to explain to Maxi all this like the old mage did. I don’t think he missed all this explanation because he wanted but most likely him thinking it was a wasting time and how busy he was before leaving.

Go Maxi! She is working so hard I'm routing for her 🤭 And finally Riftan can relax Melric will help her so he can let his overprotectivness a little more loose so Maxi can breath and dream and live.

well, Melric seems pretty darn useful to Maxi. hope Riftan doesn't have to leave any time soon.

I thought so... Riftan will leave soon, and Maxi will start freaking out...

I feel like Melrics approach being more beneficial to Maxi is almost another nod to the legend and the implication of her being some sort of manifestation of the maiden in the story, much like their sneaking off during the festival
