Good job. But I would prefer a late romance. He has just started his journey.Friend and love is important and good. But it isn't everything. At least let him reach the league first. There are lot other fanfic with love harem and so on, it contains everything but POKEMON, but you have done a marvelous job with showing Pokemon capture, training them, everything good. But some say it becomes monotonous with only Pokemon and stuff, well the story is about Pokemon literally and mc could get into competitions which requires only human participation like combat, cooking, singing and what not. Maybe he will help police by having recruited as a special officer for some time, get their exclusive Pokemon like growlithe etc. Also instead of just following routes to reach gyms and only catching Pokemon that are on the way, maybe he could just specifically go somewhere to catch a specific Pokemon ,which maybe rare or common. I was really impressed with him catching bellsprout. All in one, there are many options for you make this a polished gem. Let it be unique. Most fanfic tend to go too dark, harem shit, catching way too Pokemon and not training them, let goes on. Just read other stories on any platform, you will get the idea. I seriously love this story and I want more. Let Pokemon be the core of this Pokemon story, isn't that why we are all here? Well I had nothing to do after my exam, so just wrote it.
