Ira needs to write Daisy asking specifically what's going on in the capital explaining he's hearing disregard stories. I think that's the only way she will tell him before they head up during the break. I don't want them getting hurt/killed! Daisy will never forgive Rukelion if he killed Ira or the other kids.
