Id like to start out by saying I love this story, and you do an awesome job! I always look forward to the new chalters. (From your authors note, I assumed that Rictus purposefully ignored the assassination of King Torygg, and if thatâs not true feel free to ignore the rest of my comment) I am not against the decision, story wise, for the King to be assassinated, but If you could, would you mind elaborating on the reasons Rictus did not interfere with the death of King Torygg? It may have been mentioned and I just forgot, but I would appreciate it if you could expand a little on some things: It seems to me that it would have benefited Rictus immensely to save the King, simply for the stability it would bring to Skyrim. I canât imagine it will be easy to stop all of the potential devastating story lines while also dealing with the unknown and possibly malicious/hostile skilled, even without a civil war going on. War would cripple the manpower and supplies available to combat dragons, much less the rest of the potential dangers. And as for not wanting the notoriety or personal danger that interfering could beget, Rictus can shift his appearance and teleport at will. The war would also have negative consequences on Winterhold by creating trading difficulties and potentially manpower losses, but Rictus seems personally invested in the region and I canât Imagine he would ignore it. Also I find it hard to think Rictus would be so callous as to not care for, or consider, all the deaths the war would likely cause. However, I am a little rusty on Skyrim Knowledge, so I may be forgetting some key events or quests that, in the end would be massively worse for Skyrim than letting the war occur. Furthurmore, I donât know the exact timeline, and maybe Rictus did, but simply didnât take into account any shifts his actions, or those of the Skilled, could have caused to shift the Kings assassination forward in time. Iâd appreciate it if you could assuage some of my doubts, and as always Iâm looking forward to more!
