While I think the MC was exceedingly wise, pragmatic, and thorough, I donât know how I feel about the karmic balance system as he heads into the new world. Now that he knows his behavior matters in the afterlife, his actions would be severely limited. Even though it was explicit that the MC wasnât a horrible person to begin with, but even the smallest action that deviates from pure âgoodâ can now be seen as too risky, forcing the MC to be a goody two-shoes which can get stale. I know it was hinted that even rich people who give to charity simply for the tax benefits can also accumulate positive karma albeit at a discounted price, but still.. I feel like this would really limit the scope of action of the MC..
Okay the 10x increase to get into heaven doesn't bother me as much now due to his increased lifespan, it's also nice to see an MC truly think things through and seeing him think of ways to limit the cost without truly limiting the ability was genuinely nice. Not to mention that it makes it more of a growth story which is honestly my preference over instant mastery. If it were me even if I had a choice I would rather train and earn it than have it given to me. Now I'm still gonna stack the deck in my favour like the MC, talent and comprehension are key. I just want to feel like it's mine, at the end of the day when I'm finally at my best I want to know it was because of the effort I put in. Anyway, loving the story so far can't wait to see what happens.
