Just saying that this makes absolutely zero sense. I get that the other guy can take a spot because of his fam but taking out the top scorer how has got the max that has never been achieved? Yeah, this is a joke. Nobody would accept this... Like this is the top school in the world for the fight for the survival of the human race. I highly doubt they would give up a supreme talent and just take out someone who had a lower score. This is a joke of a start and doesn't bode well but we move xD

why not kick out the lowest scorer?

it's already bad enough he was first place, but also why not transfer to a different school or just go to a different? like if the best school accepts him then lower ranked ones will and he will get in the mech class

why taken the first seat of mecha major? even the stupidest principal would not do that!

the system ain't very smart...he didn't choose...

I read further ahead where the auther "fixes" it (of why the 1 places lost his spot), he gives an explanation for it, but I won't continue with this book cuz it aint for me.
