it's not clear the first chapter should be character development and shop but why should it be something that is not clear at all

Mages are morons in this era. They just throw more fuel into the spell to make it destructive. Obviously you suppose to take prey out in one shot without damaging the hide. Sorely lacking imagination an finesse.

The characters disappoint me. They way they act and react is very unnatural to me
