I don't know man, there is something about this chapter that puts me off. I don't know if it is because of this fog thing being a limited external resource and the people there kind of 'fought' over it or the fact that you hinted at the... talent? Of the others being higher than the MC's, and I'm just too unfair in thinking that all the bad cliches will happen and I should just drop right now so I don't get annoyed later, or if it's something entirely different.

if the amount of fog indicates talent, then MC's unreachable love girl is super strong, his best friend and enemy is strong and the rest and he himself is below average. Somehow I don't feel good about this setting. i hope his love girl doesn't remain unreachable for most of the novel due to her high talent and strength and our MC's keeps pursuing her all along.

So, the MC has some sort of “presence” that was mentioned several times, but yet he apparently isn’t even in the top 3 for whatever the “fog” is. I hope that he doesn’t end up being weaker than everyone else, weak MC’s are never fun. I’m hoping that drink his dad kept giving him will give him some sort of benefit in this ”new” world. Maybe this is just me, but it took me a second before I understood that the 'fifths' you were talking about was the fog. On a nother note, I have noticed a couple of mistakes in the novel regarding spelling, choosing the wrong word and whatnot. These are however much fewer than what I am used to on this website, so I must applaud you for that. I really like it so far and am looking forward to reading the rest of it :).
