I was not expecting the writing to be this good, frankly. Tired of reading stuff that's very choppy in terms of presentation, and even the structure of the sentences. This flows almost like a book from R. A. Salvatore, it's great.

author did an masterstroke on this one, not just plot but mainly MC's character is put the test in this extreme condition and thank God he is on the smart side of the scale. in this chapter you clearly see MC best ability which is his brain which shown his his analysis of situation and make best desisions while also make his priority straight.
