Ok prediction time: Hunters may still test Simon. Silverwater is everywhere and they will notice if he eats and drinks with them. Once she finds out the truth she will have started to have conflicting feelings for Simon.

I love this dangerous development! Though our ship is far from sailing, there seems to be changes we just can’t miss! Like how Mel thinks more of Simon than Conner, how Simon couldn’t let anything happen to Mel no matter how he internally justified his actions... Now what’s left to be seen if 1. Mel found Simon out - will she be with him or against him? 2. Compulsion undone on Conner - will he come to detest the vampires or continue on his non-violence streak.
