S01E01 THICKER THAN WATER
SO1E01 Thicker than water.
"In so many cases, we hear people preaching the importance of family, even though some says that family is only good for burials or weddings, some still tend to preach that family like blood, indeed is thicker than water, but is it?" –Hashili Hafeni.
It's a great morning in Namibia, the sun as always looks golden rising and this can only be a good combination with the Hashili Garden which has well trimmed bushes, grass and a couple of trees surrounding a pond. The Hashili family is busy preparing for the anniversary that very night, newspapers are being delivered at every doorstep announcing the 20th anniversary of Evelyn Hashili and her much wealthy husband David Hashili. flower deliveries are being made, ice sculptures brought in to her liking and event planners on their heels to make sure the event is the best and she is pleased with their service.
On the other side of the Namutoni red line, a couple of determined ladies and gentleman are looking at today to see what it will bring for them in the morning as everyone is heading for the newspaper on their doorsteps. The event was a big thing in the calendar as the Hashili are famous for a couple of charity work that they do and are looked at as the pillar of the community.

Has motherly instincts and very protective of people that are close to her, she is very determined to make a couple of people pay for the pain caused to her in the past with her siblings so this morning she rolled out of her bed and found the magazine on the table brought in by her friend who slept over "thanks for helping me finish up last night, I really needed today off, and thanks for the coffee" she said pouring herself a cup and walking to the siting room

She was the naive young girl of the whole group, recently graduated from College of the arts in Windhoek but there was no way she was going to miss the party of the decade, she is Waking up from the floor still in her graduation gown since last night and checking on the calendar on the wall marked up.
This group of ladies and gentleman all went to take showers and packed tiny bags and at exactly 9 am, everyone is putting their shades on, walk out of the house and went to airports to fly to Oshakati for the anniversary

Evelyn dressed in a pencil blue dress with yellow stilettos, a wedding planner and a photographer were busy in the garden getting all the things in order when her youngest daughter came to her. "Mom, Shioban hasn't delivered my dress yet, are you sure it will be ready for the evening? What if I don't even fit in?" asked Hope getting all grumpy walking to her mother in the garden "Mom, my suit isn't yet here when is Shioban coming and aren't we supposed to be gift shopping by now?" asked Hussein also coming from different side of the stairs in his boxer with a towel hanging over his shoulder "guys give me a minute, Courtney please come assist here" said Evelyn to the people he was talking to and handing everything over to her assistant Courtney and turning to her kids, "Darling, I spoke to Shioban, she said she will be here soon and in time" said Evelyn holding Hope on the shoulders looking straight into her eyes until she started smiling "Honey, your suit is done and I assure you you will fit in Shioban is a good designer and she knows what she is doing" said Evelyn holding onto Hussein while Hope walks away "but what if she makes a mistake ma, we wont be bale to correct it until its here" said Hussein "She wont make a mistake" said Evelyn pulling a straight face bringing out the deviousness in her.

Daniel was David's oldest son and in many cases acts as David's right hand man, he cleans up the father's mess and not so faithful. "Yes honey, I will be home in no time babe, I just need to quickly finish up on a few things" said Daniel over the phone at his desk while his secretary is busy unzipping his trouser "Yes baby, just pick up my gift, and my suit from Shioban and get the kids, Ill be there" he added looking up into the air with gasping mouth "I love you bye babe" he said and hung his phone up before another call came through, he picked it up, listened in silence and hung up "your wife again Mr. Daniel?" asked Yvonne the secretary kissing Daniel's neck "Nope that was my father, he has some work for me and I guess is on his way to my office so if you please may, hurry out of here" said Daniel dressing up quickly "oh shit" said Yvonne and dressed up fast also and left the office meeting Mr. David halfway and just greeted him with faint smiles and proceeded.
The sun was now setting over the town and the party preparations are now drawing close. People at the Hashili manor have worked their hands off to make it an extravagant event and some maids now tired, are taking a rest in the kitchen, and the planes boarded are flying in at Ondangwa airport, including the Presidential jet, flying in the first lady for the party.

All the planes have finally arrived at the airport at almost the very same time with only minutes in difference, with all the gentlemen and gentlewomen dressed elegantly stepping out one shoe first, look far across the area put on the sunglasses and doing the power walk towing suitcases into the airport building as the cars were already there waiting for them, some with booked drivers, while the Boni and Marry them are doing their own driving since they are new in town and really don't know people there.

The Hashili family is so rich that even their own kids adopt the lifestyle of kings and queens thus now hope is busy doing her shopping on her own being chauffeur driven from place to place in a Mercedes and same applies to the brother who is busy doing shopping too. They have people following them around and they only pointing to the clothing or gift or piece of jewelery that they want and at a swipe of a black card, their assistants were able to carry the clothing or whatever piece these kids buy.
As it was to everyones expectation the night has finally dawned on day and all elegant roads led to the Hashili households. All the who's of where were making their ways to the party, including the first lady that got jetted in, was now in her convoy driving to the anniversary, the family has over the years developed a bond with the first family and been friends for so long.

The night is as elegant as expected with Mr. David chatting to the people and smiling all day in his well made designer suit, Hussein was on his far end corner with a bottle of jack Daniel behind the house pouring his life away into the bottle, Hope on the other end like how she was brought up, was being an obedient daughter who only carried on conversations because her mother asked her to. Mr. David took a spoon from a passing waiter and hit the glass he had in hand catching everyone's attention, "uhm, ladies and gentleman, can I have few minutes of your time" he said putting the fork back on the tray and pocketing his one hand while his other is holding a champagne glass "I'm very happy tonight that you are all here tonight to witness as we flourishing in this thing called marriage for 15 years now with my lovely wife Evelyn" said David extending his hand and pointing to Evelyn who is standing in the crowd next to the first lady and holding a glass filled halfway with one of the most expensive champagnes. "aaw," said Evelyn making a cuddly face and walking to David dressed in an evening gown with Ria heels being all smiles with her glass. "so I want you all to toast to that and look outside into the sky as present number one I got for my wife here, go down while I go get her second present" said David kissing his wife's forehead and looking far out as the fireworks go off, everyone was happy and cheered and Evelyn was more consumed in the fireworks and didn't pay attention to anything, she was just standing there waiting for the husband to return. Sonja came out of the crowd and stood exactly where David stood and clanged her glass with a ring on the index finger catching everyone's attention. "Good evening ladies and gentleman, we are here tonight to celebrate the lovely couple, so if you can, lift your glasses up and cheers to that" said Sonja raising her glass to Evelyn who raised hers back to her but hesitantly as she has no clue who Sonja was. "Since its present time, I also went out of my way to give the Hashili's a present they will always remember every time the anniversary is mentioned, get your cameras ready guys" said Sonja pointing at the invited media. Marry, Stephan, Dorothy, Sunday and Boni walked in to the venue one by one as Mr. David was coming from his house with a parcel shocked by the people lining up "What is happening here?" he asked shocked "Hello daddy" said Sonja turning to his father with a smile on her face. Hussein dropped his bottle looking at the brothers in awe "what the fuck, he said".
