Is he going to get character development where he stops being afraid of things he can’t avoid and stop running away to
He will somewhere along the way. Only that here at this arc he will continue to be a coward. Kevin is a pampered person, never did he suffer something alike to what he is facing in gameworlds. A little spoilers he will be traumatized in this world (He will have to kill, thus increasing his fears.) It would take a few therapy and help from the System before he will learn to grow some backbone.
Somewhere along the way he will man up. But currently he really cannot be brave in facing the horrors of his life. He is a pampered man, never did he suffer anything alike what he is facing, therefore even if it's already his second world he can't stop himself from being afraid. This scaredy cat behavior of his will escalate a little more in this arc(spoiler: he will kill here).
