Comments of chapter undefined of Inverse System

I never really understand why authors feel like their MCs need to hide their system, reincarnation, or whatever the flavor of the day is from everyone including their closest family and friends. The excuses they write up are usually flimsy and make little to no sense, but I fail to see the logic in revealing something like that to a group of people that are practically complete strangers.
