Definitely a good start. My only suggestion is to make sure he actually uses clarks intelligence. because alot of authors completely skip over the fact he can think almost as fast as the flash. which is an attosecond. Like come on man. Anyway he can make some great inventions and if you go the medical way like you look like you are you can create something like a medical chamber where most illnesses can be cured inside.

What's gonna happen to the bearded dragon?

Does his power enhance his body over time by using the sunlight (his powers just constantly strengthens his body permanently, so that if his powers deactivate, he doesn't need to rely on it to be strong)

what about people like rogue etc can they copy his powers or can his x gene powers be suppressed or removed like through hope serum or cloning

God made it clear no one else can have his DNA (not sure if he only ment kids). Hope the special handcuffs don't supress his powers since his body is a side effect to his power. As in he gets stronger with the more sun energy he absorbs. His intelligence is increased and etc. However if you remove the sun his power should still be their, just it's not growing anymore only stagnant.
