NebulousArcana:Length wise you don’t actually have anything to worry. My prefrence is anything above 1K words so as long as your punching above that your doing a good job in my book not to mention most fan-fic readers on this site are used to 600-900 word chapters and the dropped so don’t get too in your head about whether or not your writing enough. Story wise there was a lot of repitition, either with the actual words spoken and flow of dialogue, like their argument over hearing the story again. Its intresting that you want your character to be fleshed out and act his age but the truth of matter is 6year olds are annoying as f*** if your going to show his formative years there has to be a sense of developing maturity or at the very least he has to be intresting enough to overlook the childishness. When it comes to describing appearnces its ok to drop tiny details in extended paragraphs so readers can build their own image and connection with the character but if you give too vague a detail or spread out the breadcrumbs too thin your more than likely to have them lose track of what their putting together. I’m assuming that the boy far off behind the main duo of your chapter was Tang San(if im wrong then it doesnt matter) but the notion of him being in the sunset forest when geographically its located on periphery of the heaven dou city makes the stories placement disorienting.
